What is an auto-responder?

An auto-responder is an online program that allows you to collect subscribers who are agreeing to receive emails from you.  Your subscribers will receive your auto-mated messages that you have setup.  Some of the more common professional auto-responders include GVO / Host Then Profit, Aweber, Getresponse, Response Magic, TrafficWave.

Our preferred auto-responder is GVO – Host Then Profit!

What is a campaign?

Your campaign is your “list”. You’ll need to give your list a name that is relevant to your list, ie. Personal Contacts, Free Report or Newsletter list.  Most Auto-responders allow multiple campaigns.   May be called ‘campaign’ or ‘list’ – each responder is a little bit different.

Your Optin/Confirmation Email

This is the email your subscriber receives when they subscribe and is a way for you to confirm this is a real person with a real email address. You will personalize your Optin Confirmation email.  The only link in this email is the one included by the system!

Here is an example confirmation email for GVO

Hello %%SubscriberFullName%%

Thank you for visiting my website and subscribing to my list.

There is one more step.

Please confirm your subscription  by clicking the link below. I look forward to sharing with you, the tools and resources that work for me.

Thank you,

Your first email

This is a welcome to your subscriber.  You will let your subscriber know what to expect in upcoming emails.  Your first letter will welcome your subscriber and offer your contact info and the link to any free report or product that you were giving away. I recommend you do NOT sell them anything on the first email.  You can direct your readers to your blog

Here is an example First email

Hello %%SubscriberFullName%%,

Janet Legere here.

Thank you for subscribing to my personal contact list.  As you know, my focus is helping you learn to use the Internet to create leads for your business.

Over the next few days, you will receive a series of emails designed to help you understand the importance of branding you and the KLT (know, like and trust) factor!

I hope you enjoy them. Please let me know if you have questions or need help in any way.  You will find my  contact details below.

Have a great day,

Writing a short series

Your follow-up series of letters should be designed to inform them of your products and or services and get your reader to respond and connect with you
Building relationships is what this business is all about … Share your stories, let your reader get to know, like and trust you

Adding to your series – other topics to discuss

Broadcast to your list
Currents News and Updates
Newest Blog Post
New programs, tooks, etc.

HINT: Whenever you broadcast a message to your list, copy it and add it to the end of your series. Over time, you will grow a large list of emails for your subscribers.

Creating a Form and Lead Page

Now that your Campaign is ready, you need to create a Form and add the Code to your Website or Create a Lead Capture Page (both are suggested)
